About this blog

This blog will document my journey of playing on the Golf Channel AmTour. The highs and lows, trials and tribulations, the heartache and achievements. The AmTour is open to all levels of amateurs. This blog is also an attempt to inspire others to chase THEIR dreams no matter their age.
So with a lot of practice and some good fortune you just might see me on tv during the upcoming golf season.

"Yeah runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream"

Lyrics from Tom Petty's Running Down a Dream.

Quote from A League of Their Own
Jimmy Dugan: ... sneaking out like this, quitting, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Baseball is what gets inside you. It's what lights you up, you can't deny that.
Dottie Hinson: It just got too hard.
Jimmy Dugan: It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

Start of 2014 Season

The 2013 season was my first season on tour and what an eye opener.  There were many lows and a few even lower points.  Needless to say I lost a few balls, missed a few putts, and had my ego shattered.  Tournament golf is waaaay different then playing a round with the buddies for lunch or a cigar.  Well the 2013 season ended on a high note and breathed fresh air in my lungs and I managed to mend my bruised ego.  I qualified for Nationals in September but due to work commitments was unable to attend.  Technically the season started in November but I really did not play until first part of December.

The first tournament was at Lakewood in New Orleans.  I made the turn even par but the next three holes got away from me and did me in.  Finished middle of the field.  December was the first two day major in Tampa at Innisbrook, playing the Copperhead and Island courses.  Played so so the first day, and had a stretch of the middle 6 holes that I played mediocre and finished the day around 10th.  The second day I faired much better, however the middle 6 holes I didnt play very well and stalled by otherwise great round.  Subsequently, I finished 6th.  January I find two local tournaments on the schedule and a multiday major in Vegas at the end of January, The Dual in the Desert.
