Looking back over this blog and realizing how far I have come, it's hard to imagine it has been a year since my last posting. The events and lessons I have learned over the past year are astounding. And for those of you, my friends, that have been patiently waiting for updates and wondering about my progress I am here to say I sorry to have kept you in the dark for so long and I have happy to say that the events of my life which have distracted me are in the past.
I am claiming 2016 as The Year of Golf.
The past year events include moving, finalizing my divorce, changing jobs, and finishing my Master's Degree. When I reflect I think OMG I did all of that last year. No wonder my golf suffered. LOLOLOL.
A new year, a new lease on life, a new direction and dedication.
A quick recap of the last year.
The year was filled with ups and downs. The major highlights were a competing in two qualifying events. Attempting to qualify for USGA Senior Open and a Senior PGA Tour Pre-Qualifier; finished in the middle of the pack and didn't embarrass myself on both occasions. Additionally, a 2nd place in Pinehurst last July and 1st Place at the National Championship at PGA West in Palm Springs in September, more about that later. For most of the year, about 9 months, I was playing Mizuno MP-15's irons but never became comfortable with how they felt, so I switch back to Mizuno MP-54's and won a national championship. The year included a trip to Puerto Rico to play a two day major tournament, didn't play particular well but playing there a week before the PGA event and seeing the stands built on the 18th green was memorable. With the move it also included moving tour sites. Not only is the new tour more competitive it is also deeper fields. Time to saddle up and bear down.

About this blog
This blog will document my journey of playing on the Golf Channel AmTour. The highs and lows, trials and tribulations, the heartache and achievements. The AmTour is open to all levels of amateurs. This blog is also an attempt to inspire others to chase THEIR dreams no matter their age.
So with a lot of practice and some good fortune you just might see me on tv during the upcoming golf season.
"Yeah runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream"
Lyrics from Tom Petty's Running Down a Dream.
Quote from A League of Their Own
Jimmy Dugan: ... sneaking out like this, quitting, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Baseball is what gets inside you. It's what lights you up, you can't deny that.
Dottie Hinson: It just got too hard.
Jimmy Dugan: It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!
