Once upon a time, I had grand dreams and aspirations. Hence the purpose of this blog, to chronicle my journey. And for those who have followed and read the blog, thank you, but as you can attest my entries have become very sporadic. The reason for this? Well, let's just say and chalk it up to disappointment.
Disappointment in many capacities, but most importantly disappointment in my inability to improve at a rate that was required. Which proves to me just how difficult this game really is. Maybe some dreams aren't meant to be achieved and we must face some harsh realities and reassess. Which brings me to this post. I could list in detail and certain ramblings why I have abandoned this dream and choice to reassess and re-evaluate. So in the interest of time and so not to bore you with mundane details, let me say I have abandoned this unobtainable goal on the grounds of time. With any goal, time deadlines are key to success. First of all, I placed a 4 year time deadline and that deadline has arrived. All is not lost, the lessons I have learned over these four years will remain with me for a lifetime. So has I close this book and vol 1 of my golfing life, I will take the lessons I've learned to carry me to my new goals and dreams. You see the most important lesson I learned was NOT to focus on results but forge your mind on the process. The process of growth, expanding what is possible, and live in the moment.
My new goal is to win the USGA Senior US Amateur before I turn 60. I will become eligible to play at the age of 55. I will have 2 years to prepare that climb to the peak. So for now, I am changing this blog to reflect this change.

About this blog
This blog will document my journey of playing on the Golf Channel AmTour. The highs and lows, trials and tribulations, the heartache and achievements. The AmTour is open to all levels of amateurs. This blog is also an attempt to inspire others to chase THEIR dreams no matter their age.
So with a lot of practice and some good fortune you just might see me on tv during the upcoming golf season.
"Yeah runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream"
Lyrics from Tom Petty's Running Down a Dream.
Quote from A League of Their Own
Jimmy Dugan: ... sneaking out like this, quitting, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Baseball is what gets inside you. It's what lights you up, you can't deny that.
Dottie Hinson: It just got too hard.
Jimmy Dugan: It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!
