About this blog

This blog will document my journey of playing on the Golf Channel AmTour. The highs and lows, trials and tribulations, the heartache and achievements. The AmTour is open to all levels of amateurs. This blog is also an attempt to inspire others to chase THEIR dreams no matter their age.
So with a lot of practice and some good fortune you just might see me on tv during the upcoming golf season.

"Yeah runnin' down a dream
That never would come to me
Workin' on a mystery, goin' wherever it leads
Runnin' down a dream"

Lyrics from Tom Petty's Running Down a Dream.

Quote from A League of Their Own
Jimmy Dugan: ... sneaking out like this, quitting, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Baseball is what gets inside you. It's what lights you up, you can't deny that.
Dottie Hinson: It just got too hard.
Jimmy Dugan: It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

Trip to see Instructor Part II

Sorry it has been a while since my last blog update.
So picking up where I left off, Terry and I worked on hand position at impact, basically being more on top of the ball with weight shift more on left side.  The following day I went out and hit the driving range and found some extra distance and control.  What more can anyone ask for?  We also changed my swing path.  Upon video analysis, Terry saw I was bring my club to much around my body causing fat shots, hitting the ground before the ball occasionally.
So what he has me doing is bring the club more upright over my right shoulder resulting in dropping the club into the proper slot and coming from the inside.  Viola, got my baby draw back.  Ball moving right to left, draw, about 5 - 10 yards, perfect.  I was able to play a practice round on one of the courses where my April major will be held.  It was a cold day, so I took it easy with my leg.  I didnt want to stress it and make the injury worst.  So I didnt keep score and just worked on and apply what Terry has taught me and work on my short game on the course.  What a great round.  I felt very comfortable and the course didnt scare me.  Short game needs to be sharper, but that is always the case.  Currently I am about 50% up and down and I need to be around 80 - 85%.  So more work more practice, but I am certainly on my way and on the correct path.

Eventhough I didnt play as much as I wanted, I came away very encouraged and re-energized.  I have a lot of work to do while I am working on the road.  Fortunately I can work on these without clubs.
